Do I see kids?

Let me be honest here. When I started this journey, I did not want to do therapy with kids. I thought I wanted to work only with adults. Kids break my heart, I don’t want them to hurt. I want to take them home and be “grandma” and make cookies and read books and play games. But I soon realized that to have emotionally health adults, we have to address issues our kids are facing.

Our kids have to deal with so much these days. And I have discovered I can play and read books and do art and even cook-all in the therapy setting. Kids toys are their words. How they play reveals a lot.

So I have completely changed my mindset about working with kids. I want to help them now, when they are young, so when they are adults, they don’t need me or any other therapist.
